Warrior 101: Happenings within BCS Classrooms – Elementary Chapel Service

by Felicia Henderson

Every week, we celebrate having the opportunity to learn more about our mighty God as we worship Him during our elementary chapel services!  Each week, students have a time of singing and using creative movements to worship Him.  An object lesson is used to engage and prompt students to think about the lesson of the week.  Our students are also given an opportunity to cheer on fellow students as different students are selected weekly to actively participate in a Minute-to-Win-It Game.  The lesson is taught, and students are asked questions to demonstrate their understanding.  Students are challenged to learn a memory verse and to demonstrate understanding of the lesson by acting on the Scriptures taught throughout the week.
Currently, we are finishing up our theme of “Hands On Faith.”  Each week, we have had a “mad scientist” demonstrate a science experiment on our big screen and relate it to having faith in God.  This week, our “mad scientist”, aka Pastor Henderson, made a guest in-person appearance and created slime, and related it to sin; making and playing with slime is fun, but it ends up making a mess and can stick to you and the objects around you.  Students learned that sin separates us from God and causes issues with each other, and God is the only one that can forgive us from our sins.   Students love celebrating our mighty God each week!
