Welcome, Ashley Moffit!
High School History
My name is Ashley F. Moffitt. I am originally from Eastern Tennessee and am delighted to now call myself a resident of Montana. My husband, Joseph, and I have been married for 16 years and have three beautiful children joining me at Billings Christian School. Their names are Emily (7), Nolan (10), and Rylan (15). In December, God called my family to Billings for my husband’s employment with a local Christian organization. I taught in a rural public high school in Tennessee and have two years of professional teaching experience.
I have a BS in interdisciplinary studies from Liberty University, focusing on Education, Religion, and Social Sciences. I also completed my Master’s in Teaching (MAT) focusing on secondary history from Tusculum University. I have state certifications in both Montana and Tennessee in History and English. Now, I am working on my Ph.D. in History from Liberty University. Although I have many historical interests, my area of focus is American history, emphasizing John Adams.
God instilled a love of history in me as a small child, starting with the Bible. It is the greatest book of history, recorded by the One who is the Author of all creation. I hope to instill a love of history in my students and help nurture their Spirit as they discover the gifts that God has uniquely chosen for each of them. My goal as an educator is to meet my students where they are and help them grow. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunity to teach in an environment where the Biblical worldview is allowed. Thank you for this opportunity, and I look forward to meeting each of you.
Psalm 78: 3-4
“Things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”
