Welcome, Julie Dyrud!
Hello! My name is Jules Dyrud. I am an avid reader, writer, hiker, and the proud owner of a rambunctious puppy named Indiana (Indy for short). I was born and raised in Colorado, but I did a four year stint in Spokane, Washington. While there, I spent two years studying TESOL at Moody Bible Institute. After spending a summer in Europe teaching English as a second language, I determined that ESL wasn’t for me–but teaching was. I worked two years at a preschool and then went back to school at Grand Canyon University to get my degree in English for Secondary Education. While finishing my degree, I have spent the past two and a half school years working as an assistant Language Arts teacher for 7th and 8th grade–and I have never enjoyed a job more!
Now, the Lord is leading me on a new adventure in Billings, Montana. I am so very thrilled for the opportunity to be a part of the Billings Christian School community, and I am excited to step into the role of a fifth grade teacher. Fifth grade is a fun age where students start to gain autonomy as they learn about and interact with the world around them. I look forward to coming alongside them during this time and not only pushing them academically, but also encouraging them in their walk with God and their understanding of the world. Working with middle school students has given me a good idea of what skills students need to learn early on in order to be successful, and I am excited to equip my students with all the tools they need to thrive. Thanks for welcoming me to the team–I am looking forward to meeting and interacting with you all!
