Welcome to our newest board member, Loren Soft!

Loren was born and raised in Richey, Montana. Following high school graduation, he traveled to Billings to enroll in Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings). He completed both his bachelors and masters degrees at EMC.

Loren married his high school sweetheart, Janice, in 1961. They have two daughters, Barbara and Sonya, and four grandchildren.

In 1963, between college terms, Loren began what would become his life-long career at Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch. He worked at YBGR for 40 years, holding various positions throughout the years, with the last 22 years as the CEO.

During his last years at YBGR and following retirement, Loren worked as a consultant with the Yellowstone Resource Center, providing strategic planning, leadership training, and board training for non-profit organizations throughout the U.S.

Following retirement for YBGR in 2004, he became the Church Administrator at Faith Evangelical Church in Billings, a position he held until retiring for the second time in December, 2019.
